Bio

Jon Parks is a singer-songwriter who creates pensive pop music. His new "Mercy" EP ends the 10-plus year silence since the release of his debut album "Out Here", recorded while living in Winnipeg, Manitoba. His new EP combines thought-provoking lyrics with pop arrangements reminiscent of Belle and Sebastian and David Bowie.

Jon's music is born out of the lonely teenage years he spent listening to CDs and cassettes in his basement bedroom. It was in that bedroom that he began to record his own songs on a borrowed 4-track tape recorder.  All these years later, he still makes music much the same way - recording alone, layering instruments and shaping sounds late into the night.

Although he was born and raised in the United States, Jon has called Canada home for over twenty years.  He lives in an old house with his wife and children in a small southern Ontario town.
